Hooked on a feeling

The Boots in action. I've always had some reservations about wearing tan boots with black because whenever I have done, my outfit has never felt *just* right. Like, tans should stick with blue-themed outfits and blacks with greys and white. As if there aren't deeper issues that could be plaguing my mind instead but you know how it is: if I don't walk out the door feeling good about what I'm wearing then my whole day feels off.

Well it seems it's all down to shade and these cutout beauties more than put my mind at ease, so I can throw out my other tan ankle boots now!! (But I will obviously hoard them away, just in case.)

Also, I very uncharacteristically went for a low pony and, paired with this gold metal hairband cover (from H&M like three years ago), I'm very much enjoying it. Sophisticated AND practical in keeping my hair out of my lunch. Crazy and pathetic how lowering my ponytail a couple of centimetres can bring me so much joy, hm? It's the little things...

In non-mundane personal style chat, I went to see Guardians of the Galaxy the other night and HOMG it was amazing. I have the fickle tendancy to come out of every action film thinking it was the best thing I've ever seen but SERIOUSLY, Guardians WAS the best thing I've seen and probably will be for the year 2014. Better than X-Men!! Who knew Chris Pratt was such a great leading actor?

Inspired by his transformation from lumpy to heart-eyes-emoji, I'm soup dieting. I've been making soup... FROM SCRATCH. Like with actual ingredients and a hand blender. It's actually very gratifying to have a hearty bowl of soup that didn't come from a can and knowing exactly what went it in (plenty of garlic for moi 'cause I can't get enough). I so "get" cooking now!

  1. You look lovely! It's such a simple look but is so put together.
I really want to see Guardians of the Galaxy - how can it be better than X-Men!?

  3. I never feel right wearing tan and black either but this shade goes so well! And I get what you mean, for me bad outfit = bad day (as dumb as that sounds!) I wanna see Guardians of the Galaxy, apparently it's really funny! x

  4. I'm also wary of wearing brown boots since my bottoms are usually black. I think they look okay though since I have very dark boots. I think your tan boots pull together with the white top so it's an overall lighter look.

And HOMG indeed! Chris Pratt was born for that role. I heard about an interview with him and how the producers didn't want him to even audition because he wasn't in the right shape but when he read the lines, they were instantly sold and wanted him for the role...even if he didn't get into the shape he is in now. Even he said it was torture to lose the weight and get ripped but when he saw his scene with his shirt off, he said it was totally worth it (and I agree!).

  7. Girl, you're looking glamorous as ever :) those boots are really nice! I saw them in Zara and I was tempted to buy them, but then something hit me and a little voice in my head screamed out "I can never pull of ankle boots!" sigh! xx

  8. Lovely outfit, and I am really loving the boots and blazer! Definitely going to invest in some cute ankle boots and blazers in a couple of months - need to change my entire wardrobe for this second year or uni.

Oh my gosh, I saw Guardians Of The Galaxy last night. Absolutely adored it! I'm with you, on the 'thinking every action film is brilliant'. But I loved that there was more of a comedic element in this, than maybe some of the other Marvel films (not that the others aren't)

But I'm totally with Peter, with the dance-off. That would be my way to solve things, I'm sure of it.
And Groot at the end - cutest little thing EVER.

  9. Totally know "tan-boots-issue"... it never feels quite right without the proper color match, not that it really matters... I love them anyways :)
