This was taken right in front of a window for clarity and it's super unnerving that I'm so close to the camera D: #nofilter!!! I don't usually look this three-dimensional but I've been tanning, so I'm not so sallow as usual, thankfully. Don't want to waffle so I'll get straight into which products I use:
- Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser primer
- Clarins Extra Comfort foundation
- Collection Lasting Perfection Ultimate Wear concealer
- Seventeen Phwoarr Paint Heavy Duty concealer
- Tom Ford Shade & Illuminate
- Urban Decay Naked Basics palette
- Rimmel Stay Matte pressed powder
Gold star to Clarins for being the most perfect match of a shade I've ever worn. The foundation isn't too matte nor dewy, medium coverage enough to feel light(ish) but actually cover and smells amazing.
Gold star to the Collection concealer - it really does live up the beauty blogosphere hype. The current state of affairs, what with uni work, is practically black bin bags under my eyes and the Lasting Perfection concealer does an undetectable job of hiding them. I like to use the Phwoarr Paint (cringey name) for concealing elsewhere.
Ten gold stars to Tom Ford for giving any definition at all to my incredibly round, plump, non-featured potato face. It's the only cream product I've ever stuck to using! Surprisingly easy to work with and the perfect contour colour because it stays true to its brown hue (unlike every other contour product I've used that have orangey undertones once applied). It halves the size of my nose and gives a shadow to my imaginary cheekbones.
- Make Up For Ever Aqua Brow
- Make Up For Ever Aqua Smoky Lash mascara
- L'Oreal Superliner Black Laquer liquid liner
- LASHES (with Duo glue)
MUFE Aqua Brow is the best brow product EVER. Never going back to powder and pencil again.
Of all the comments I've ever had about my makeup, in blog life and real life, my eyeliner/lashes get asked about the most. I've had "please tell me those aren't your real eyelashes" and "so do you use liquid liner to do that?" from the most random people (thrice this has been asked by a person serving me in the supermarket!).
Of COURSE they're not my real lashes. I am Asian after all. Cursed, yes CURSED with short, straight, hard-to-stay-curled eyelashes, false lashes are my only option. I've been using these from the brand pictured for the past year (not the same one pair, obv), purchased from Sasa in Hong Kong.
This L'Oreal liquid eyeliner is the best I've ever used (followed closely by Ilamasqua Precision Ink but the price of that... lol). Once it dries, it's ON. Practice makes perfect - I've been doing the same liner for the past three years, so now it only takes seconds to do a neat line! And it helps to have a steady hand.
You might think heavy eyeliner and lashes on a daily basis is a bit much but such is the life of an insecure Asian whose eyes are barely peepholes to the soul, let alone whole windows. Makeup gives me confidence.
- Dior Lip Glow Color Reviver Balm
- Dior Lip Maximiser
- Maybelline Color Sensational Shine Gloss (in Grapefruit)
I have these three products on rotate at the moment and honestly, it's whichever one I feel in my bag first that gets used. Perhaps (read: definitely) an indulgent choice for a lip balm but the Dior Lip Glow is worth it, in my opinion. It gives the most subtle, natural hint of colour that makes my lips look healthy and alive again.
Any questions, just ask! And may the wings of your eyeliner always be even.
