You can see my first hair story from many moons ago here about my haircut. This time round I went in to trim said haircut and also, as you can see, to get a new colour!
Sitting in the chair like a behemoth pleb!! Where are the eyes supposed to wonder once you've texted everyone possible and seen every update on social media?
I usually box dye my own hair, so it felt nice to have someone else do it. As I've never gone this light before, I definitely wanted it done professionally, not to mention, I can't do my own foils! I didn't want just a single colour on my head again because I recently realised that even with volume or curled, my hair still looked 'flat', so to speak. So Tammy (my hairdresser) put in different tones to give it more dimension. It's a very soft ombré and I love it. Subtle but definitely noticeable. And none of that haphazardly dyed, blocky, dark-all-of-a-sudden-it's-blonde ombré!
I said in my last hair post, "can you really put a price on fabulous hair?" and apparently you can because I paid £125 for this. That's for a full head of foils and the cut and finish. Yes, it makes me wince too but having longer hair will always cost a bit more and I'm obviously going to want to get a good job done for lightening like this. So yes, worth it!
Tammy is a director but you can choose different levels of stylists to suit different budgets (it goes graduate > stylist > senior stylist > director > artistic director). Highly recommend Voodou Liverpool if you happen to be a North West England reader of mine! Plus, they always have offers on, so more often than not, you won't need to pay full price. Believe it or not, mine was including the 50% Thursday discounts for colouring. OUCH.
