Black on black on black

Merry December mes amis! The chill is fully in the air and not only in the evenings. You know when the air is so crisp that it hurts your teeth when you breathe?! I've even caught my annual cold but I'm not complaining too much because it's all the more sweeter when I come home to see the Christmas tree and cosy up with my electric blanket. Like a NAN.

A chic nan, of course!! I'm so infatuated with my new cape that I picked up on Black Friday. It's the only time I can ever say I was glad I held off from buying something from Zara straight away. It gives such a dramatic silhouette (which I absolutely take advantage of and use to sashay through the streets) and is such an easy way to smarten up a jeans outfit. I love it with my knitted GAP roll neck peeking over the top and good thing too because I can't really wear anything else on account of the sleeveless-ness freezing me, Jack Nicholson style.

What'll probably get lost amongst Christmas excitement is that I'm turning the grand age of 22 next week, i.e. the most nondescript birthday age. I've never been a birthday lover (not keen on the attention/growing up) but I'm just so glad that for a full 24 hours I'll finally be able to relate to Taylor Swift's 22. Although in this climate I'm more than content to relate to it from the comfort of my bed ^_^ birthday's are overrated when you're older, in my opinion!

Trainer trend bandwagon

The Jade Aesthetic, Jade Fung, Liverpool fashion blog, Liverpool style blog, Asian style blog
NIKE Roshe Run trainers from ASOS || ZARA white coated lace up trousers and angora jumper

Of allll the trends I didn't want to give into, trainers was the one I didn't want to the most. Partly because I have size 7 canoes and that's just not ladylike, and partly because I didn't want to look like a permanent Chinese tourist who's ready for a day for a comfortable day of sightseeing.

But look, I'm eating my words as usual because they're so comfy and casual and cool and all those good C-word adjectives that describe off-duty model style. I deliberated over the 'winter burgundy' colour, which are part suede - can I get a heart eyes emoji, please? - but it just seemed more sensible to get a neutral colour to go with more of the 'drobe. And I was never going to fail with white on white (...on white - thanks IKEA), as you can see. If it's even possible and you're even later in on the trend than I've been, you need to give it a try. I feel like I'm bouncing on clouds when I walk in these and they even make me question why I bother with my once trusty heeled ankle boots.

That's a lie I'm sorry I love you forever and always.

While I'm still not feeling a pair of Stan Smiths or New Balance for me personally, Nike is one of my all time favourite brands and there was no doubt that when I did eventually jump on the ~sneakers~ bandwagon, I'd be jumping on with a big fat tick.

Kurt Geiger Sombrero Boots

The Jade Aesthetic, Jade Fung, Liverpool fashion blog, Liverpool style blog, Asian style blog

Another pair of "ultimate A/W boots zomgggg"? YES. Although to be fair, these are justified because they are zomg. Not flat but a slight lift to give some height but not too high that I can't trot around everywhere and anywhere in them and they're just perfectly formed and YOU CAN NEVER HAVE TOO MANY PAIRS OF SHOES. Truth be told, I did start my search for some leather chelsea boots to withstand the rain but I am perfectly content with dousing these in suede protector instead.

You know that expression about red mist when people have anger problems? I get like a white mist or something when I get shopping problems and can't seem to walk away from something!! Right now the only thing stopping me is that I have Christmas presents to start thinking about and when you have young kids in the family, you just love to spoil them, don't you? / I can hide that My Little Pony toy for me amongst a whole load of toys for them.

Actually, top top top of the agenda is my first office Christmas party next weekend. What to wear?! The only thing more challenging than choosing that outfit is choosing a secret Santa present for someone I pretty much just met. 2014 was truly the year of challenges and tough choices.

Colour me in

The Jade Aesthetic, Jade Fung, Liverpool fashion blog, Liverpool style blog, Asian style blog

It's actual me, Jade :O I've been absent from your feeds for a while, on account of being plain lazy. Blogging hasn't even been on my mind when I get home in the evening, just eat, shower, slob until it's time for bed. And then another day, another dollar!! Also that inconvenient natural occurrence of the sun setting SO BLOODY EARLY in winter means I can't get any decent photos for blog posts. But I don't want my blog to fizzle out because I do enjoy my little corner of the web, so I will keep at it. Even if you'll only be hearing from me sporadically. Hope that isn't too annoying. And I know, I know, R.I.P my Instagram as well, at the moment. Going to resurrect that to start posting daily again, so you can keep updated with all my gratuitous snaps on there.

Re: the outfit - can you tell I was going for a 60s bad furniture vibe? These boots will do that to you. Knee highs are to mini skirts as bread is to butter (or Jade is to Zara). You can't tell in the photo, but it is cold in the UK, probably more so in the fabulous North that I live in. So I'm thinking it's time to bust out the fur coat and do my annual Cruella de Vil impression. I did buy the furriest mittens the other day, like actual size-of-my-face mittens, so I'm already half way there! Will be adding leather pants for good measure too, obv.
